Tuna Food
Since 1987

One sucuk recipe,
ten countries later

Tuna Food began in Cologne in 1987 from a simple need: Muslims in Europe could not find halal meat they trusted. Today the brand ships to ten countries. Dunarea brings it to Romania.

Tuna Food

The story

The Tuna brand was created in 1987 to offer Muslims in Europe quality halal meat and meat products. The charcuterie range grew quickly and earned the community's trust. Fresh meat, white meat and frozen ready meals followed — and the company became one of Europe's reference producers.

The plant

Unwilling to depend on suppliers, the company built a modern facility where every stage is under its own control: animals are selected by the Tuna Food team, slaughtered according to halal rules and processed in the same EU-compliant 6,000 m² plant. Its own doner production, to its own recipe, supplies restaurants and hotels across Europe.

Dunarea, in Romania

Dunarea sells Tuna Food products on the Romanian market. We bring the entire portfolio — over 70 varieties — and deliver it temperature controlled, through the cold chain.
